The idea for this came from Gackt's sad message about his funeral attendance this week and from the thought that Gackt took to Bunraku his gifts from Ken Ogata.

I'm teasing - do with it what you like: stuff that gets posted unrestricted is for anyone to use as they wish. Sorry about the delay in reply - time difference issue, not indifference issue!

Oh, I wonder if Gackt would like this piece - or not. I've seen clips of him talking (in a language that I can't understand, of course!) about his preferences re food, clothes, music, etc but not about what he likes to read.

Plenty of pix of him with his nose in a book though! Didn't he talk about bunking off school sometimes and taking an English book to the river - or something like that?

Glad that you liked the piece, btw. When I was watching the "making of" DVD, I was struck by the humour that Ogata showed in dealing with Gackt and the other actors. He had a gracious way of making fun (making the work fun) as a means of giving guidance and even criticism; it's a generous touch when you're that well-known and admired. He seems less sarcastic than Gackt but still with a similarity in humour - that was what sent me hunting for a screencap from this particular scene - and the light effect was just a great bonus.

I dunno about his tastes for books, and that memory of his school days doesnt ring any bells. sorry! ask around GA, I'm sure someone would know!

I found the quote in a translation that chikotori did of an interview in the Feb 07 Oricon Style magazine:

"I : It seems like you weren’t a model student.

G : But that doesn’t mean I don’t like studying. Although I normally go to school for about three hours only.


I : You really weren’t a model student (laugh).

G : If the weather was fine I would go to the riverside and read an English book or something."

Interesting, huh? I'd like to know what he reads now!

I figured I helped on that one. We often team up when the timing is right! So yeah, it sounded familiar XDD I just helped with some parts she had trouble with, and did read it, but forgot about it ^^;;;;

Oh? You two work together sometimes?? Great - she's a Saiyuki fan! I look forward to more collaborations like you two, then - there's so much talent on offer on this comm that pretty well anything is possible - and that's an exciting thought.
