Yes, they do count towards the Oricon rankings (go to the home page, scroll down, and on the left there is a banner that says "CDJapan supports Oricon Music Charts")

Aside from the covers (and the prices), do we know what the difference is between limited and regular editions?

Usually the limited editions have a DVD or some such, but I haven't seen anything like that -- which is why I wonder...

Amazon JP. I think yes, considering that in Oricon rankings there are banners next to singles and albums "buy at Amazon.co.jp". I saw them when I was watching over "Journey through the decade"'s position in daily and weekly rankings.

I posted a list in the comm, of stores that count in the Oricon Charts, back when Jesus was released.
I'll see if I can go back and find it again.

One store that definitely does not count in the Oricon charts is YESASIA they are a store based in Hong Kong.
