Gackt Cosplay FanArt

For ComicCon/ AnimeFest 2010 I decided I really wanted to cosplay as Gackt.  However, I made this decision about 3 weeks before the event.  It was a bit of a time crunch, but getting this costume made was such a pleasure!

I've been making my own Halloween costumes for many years. I also used to make puppets and I was heavily involved with a Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast for about 2 years making costumes, but this is my first attempt at, I guess what I would call "cosplay".


I really wanted to pick a cosplay that would look decent despite my very non-Gackt-like physical appearance.  So I picked the Mizerable kago outfit for it's layering and ruffles.  Makes it easier to hide a female body under there.



I change my hair color very often and I've been slowly going platinum for the past 6 months.  I timed it so I went all blonde just in time for ComicCon in October to get the look from the Mizerable photobook.  

At the moment, I'm planning on doing a nice photo shoot with this cosplay in some beautiful local places before the snow shows up.  I'm also already planning cosplay for Otakon 2011.  I've got the Vanilla PV, Ghost PV, and Lucy Camui on the table as potentials.  Who knows, maybe I'll end up doing all three!  XD

Yeah, I'm 5'2" and I'm very curvy... there's NO way I'm ever gonna look just like Gackt no matter how hard I wish for it. I've accepted it. *sigh* :) But it certainly won't keep me from doing more cosplay. It's way too much fun!

It was very much a labor of love. I spent many long evenings sewing on my couch and forcing my mom and/or boyfriend to watch The Greatest Filmography: Red. Lol!

I was there Friday and Saturday. Friday I was at the VAMPS Q&A the whole time. I was only in cosplay on Saturday and I divided my time pretty evenly between AnimeFest and the CC main floor. Did you dress up?

You were at the Q and A. So was I, I was front row on Hyde's side.
I didn't get to dress up through. But did have my Reborn ring and since I was dressed in purple you could have said I was female Hibari XD. I went on saturday too but was waiting in line to marvel vs. capcom 3, If not I was at the echostream booth, and then we left for the vamps concert.
I still don't know how did I not see you and liked glomped you XD

What a small, small world it is! I was also in the front row but in the middle section toward Hyde's side of the stage. I asked the last question about how they pick if the lyrics will be in English or Japanese. I was wearing a leather jacket and a red plaid skirt. :) The VAMPS concert was pretty fantastic. I was in the 2nd row right in front of KAZ. I got a guitar pick. *fangirly squeal*

I'm sorry that our paths didn't cross, but next year when I show up doing Vanilla or Lucy, feel free to glomp away! XD

OMG I remember ^__^. I was the one who was picking on the Q and A guy XD. That so sucks I didn't get to meet you. Yeah the show was really good I was in the middle and caught Hyde's rubber frisbee thingy XD. I also got soaked @__@ by Hyde's water bottle.
