Current challenge: Gackt and his Journey through the Decade

I would have liked to have done better with this idea but it's almost the deadline already so that's clearly not going to happen!  Researching the pictures from the various years was fun and I found some things that I'd never seen before;  I hope, if nothing else, it's a handy summary of how much ground Gackt has covered - and a reminder that he hasn't finished yet!

Yes - I'm very glad I didn't need to choose a favourite, though my favourite of this lot is the 2001 RnR screencapped face. It's from a little clip of him making the video for the RnR concert and he's grinning like a fool because he's just thought of a neat way to get the furry cats into the scenario! It's one of those moments where his genuineness glues to the celluloid and makes you both smile and admire.

you can always display your image like this:

<*img src="YOUR IMAGE DIRECT URL HERE"* height="300">

(take out the asterisks for it to work)
it will display your image with the adjusted size. If this doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you! XD

I'm glad you like the date steps. I'm a bit anal about numbers and I suddenly realized that GACKTCAMUI has 10 letters and that we'll never be able to match that with this first 10 years ever again.

Ooh - thanks VERY much for the tech tutorial. I'll probably try it on my LJ in a "private" pane first in case I mess up the edit. My html skills are pretty primitive so I really appreciate your tip/hint.

Sigh. Just tried the html suggestion on my LJ but it doesn't do any magic, I'm afraid: just shows the typing with the URL (y, I remembered to remove the asterisks) - the Flickr url has a little snapshot balloon of its own but this doesn't help very much!

If I get some time, I'll maybe try to hunt for some instructions somewhere. Thanks for giving me a lead though.

I'm glad that you like the idea. I should have got the graphics tablet out and done a more careful job with the images but the clock was in a mean mood and that mid-month deadline came up too soon.

Oh - that would be great if you don't mind trying to help me with the code for making the full-size version sit behind a preview pane or some other trick. Word of warning - you might need to be quite patient cos I'm not too clever with LJ (I've wanted to BBQ that d*mn goat several times this week!). But, yes, if you're game to help, I'd like to learn how to do better at posting, please!

Ah - you've found the idea very well: he keeps on treading on those years like they are steps up to somewhere (that only he can see!)

Hunting for photos, I really enjoyed seeing and understanding a bit more what progress he's made in that time. It's a great achievement. As he keeps saying, we're lucky to be born in the same time ;=)

Thank you - I'm pleased that you like the idea. The 10 year theme was nice - gave me the perfect excuse to use not-much-seen-recently blond Gackt!
