I cycled to work yesterday (round trip of 15 miles/24 km) so Winter must have finished! Even so, Gackt is wearing a dark coat and not looking full of the joys of Spring; this seems to have prompted a rhyming gloom, which comes dangerously close to being a pale sham of Tennyson or Hardy. The gardener idea also comes out of Gackt's face here: I imagine that he cares for plants which his sadness will not let him enjoy. The image is taken from the 2009 wall calendar and is presumed copyright to Dears.

Date: 2009-02-26 04:25 pm (UTC)Pictures do the same, of course - I'm always struck how Gackt seems to be playing a part when he's in front of the camera for these photoshoots. It's less overt now than in some of the early ones (the shoxx fallen angel one springs to mind) but it's still there.
I don't know if you saw amaiakuyume's recent translation of one of the Gackt Globals interviews over at dears LJ? Gackt talks about making his albums narrate a coherent plot. His face seems to do the same - a single photo of Gackt is rarely without a narrative value. I can't think of another well-known face that does this so effectively. Or perhaps I just look at Gackt a bit more carefully!
Thanks for your comment.
