New Community Challenge

DESIGN GACKT'S NEW TOUR COSTUME!

To Enter This Challenge you must think up a concept for Gackt's Requiem et Reminisence 2 - is it Goth? is it Romantic? Etc. And execute that concept in ONE costume.

*You may enter from one to three entries, but the concept must be different for each entry, different color versions are not acceptable.
*You may draw your entry, you may photomanip your entry, you may collaborate with someone else on your entry, (they may assist you in illustrating your idea) but only one person may be credited as designer.
*You may use one piece in your entry that has been created by a well-known designer (for example, an Armani jacket) but you must credit the designer.
*You may use DARTS jewelry as accessories, or design your own.

You may not use previous Gackt looks or costumes! Small accessories such as belts, swords, masks may be used as an homage.

Entries must be received by November 30. All entries must include not only the design but an short description of the concept. Late entries are not accepted. Send entries to the General's email.

One Winner will be drawn at random from all entries - the prize will be GACKT'S 2009 WALL CALENDAR

One Winner will be chosen by the community - the prize is GACKT's 2009 DESK CALENDAR

*The RUNWAY Contest will post all entries without attribution, as in the GA Logos contest, on December 1.
The contest will run until December 11 and the winner and all designers will be announced on December 12 .

The Community Contest will be judged on style, originality, how well the concept is realized and use as a stage costume - so consider the need for movement.



*Once the contest is over you may post your offering outside of the community, but it must state that it was created for a GACKT ARMY creative challenge.

You've had a couple of feel-good items from me lately, so look away now if that's all you can take.  I'm sorry - this is a more difficult topic and is written for a Gackt-fan friend who lives in a house dominated by someone with depression.  On a personal note, I'm trying hard not to think that my posting the piece at this particular time has anything at all to do with the frustration of obtaining R&RII tickets - surely not!

Save Our Dears

The campaign co-ordinated by GACKT, to help assist victims of the earthquake in Niigata Japan (and environs) in 2007, has now presented two million yen to the prefecture of Niigata.

Gackt created bracelets (based on his character in the taiga drama Furrin Kazan) and crystal keychains to raise funds.

uesugi_gakuto community layout contest

Hello all!

Over at uesugi_gakuto (Gackt Army's affiliated community) we are holding a layout contest, so this post mainly appeals to those with skills in digital arts and layout making! The contest starts September 12th (today!) and lasts until October 12th, 11:59 EST.

The rules can be found here, at a public entry on the community. Although the dates in the rules are for the first contest, obviously they are not the dates for this one, and the rules have not changed.

Also, keep in mind that the new layout may or may not have a side bar (this option can be chosen when customizing a layout). It has caused some problems when it comes to tags, as viewers have to scroll past the tags sidebar to see certain community content, like images, and the usernames in the reply page are unreadable unless highlighted. When making a new layout, please keep these things in mind.

I think this contest will be interesting, considering there is a vast amount of images to choose from compared to last years's contest! I can't wait to see entries!
