Hello everyone! I don't know if this has been posted yet, but while I was perusing the internet looking for Kenshin pics, I came across this blog: http://sagaofseven.blogspot.com/2007/11/nagao-kagetora.html
The artist, Stuart Kim, has done a couple of marvelous renditions of our Gackt Kenshin-sama. I highly recommend going to the site and checking out his pics of Kagetora and Kansuke.

Date: 2008-09-12 01:07 pm (UTC)I've looked at other things on Stuart Kim's site and he often gives a short account of what caught his eye in a scene or which features he wants to get over - but, here, there's nothing much beyond a desciption of Kagetora in history (no mention of Gackt - does he even know whose face he's using?). Quite a few of Kim's other "character" pictures are centred on faces too - or, like the Hong Kong uniform one, use the individuality of a face as a foil for the (faceless) uniform or costume.

Date: 2008-09-12 03:35 pm (UTC)That's a very good analysis. I think you're right and he centers more like...an aspect of the face...the expression he thinks should encompass the character as he sees it. It's like a snapshot of the character and not the character itself.
