The French article (has a bad English translation on the site!) is interesting; it says that Gackt had a less warm reception in Hong Kong than the Cantonese singers. I expect this is true - HK taste (and HK idea of Japanese) is much more cutesy than Gackt's Ghost!

The snowboarding item is funny - in the photo, the snowboarding coach looks like such a big G fanboy!
