Homage to You Bracelet

There have been several bracelets associated with You-chan, most featuring amethyst and clear quartz (rock crystal.)  I found that good quality amethyst was pretty expensive, and I wanted more color than the clear quartz, so I made up a style that evokes, for me at least,  You's charming and subtle personality. 
Materials:
best grade clear elastic cord
8 mm stone beads:  "new jade" in deep blue and lavender. The lavender is very hard to photograph, but it actually does look like lavender jade.  Light blue crackled quartz, and clear quartz.  This will fit a small wrist, to enlarge it use 10 mm clear quartz beads or add more beads in whichever color you prefer.

I've been a big You fan from the start- hat combination of excellent musicianship and modesty is rare. Like I said, the bracelets marketed under his name just didn't 'do it' for me. This doesn't look so Pretty Princess in natural light, the stones are just hard to photograph in true color.

Actually, I was thinking of sending him something with some amazonite I collected. Perhaps a large natural stone wrapped in sterling wire, to use as either a key chain or pendant.

Care to share your source(s) for beads?
I've seen some sites, but they either didn't have this or that, or if they have they sell in BULK, or flaky sites.

from that pic, I like the deep blue surrounding the lb quartz and quartz. It has a 'mature' or 'mysterious' feel to it (more mature than mysterious, because of the lavender).

Recently, I've been going to bead shows and rock & gem shows to buy my jewelry supplies, even though it means a 100-mile round trip. There's nothing like getting to see thousands of options in one place, with vendors competing on prices! Just do a search on "rock show" or "bead show" followed by the name of your state. However, I think you can find these particular beads at stores like Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, and A.C. Moore. We're lucky to have all 3 chains here in town, plus an independent bead store.

I'm with you on the nice subtle qualities of the "new jade" beads. Sure, it's some cheap stone like serpentine, marble, or bowenite that's been dyed, but the end results look expensive.
