You know, I used to LOVE Banana Fish. It was such an awesome comic series, although I read it such a LOOOONG time ago that I don't remember too much about it. 9_9 I guess it's pretty well-known that the title "Banana Fish" comes from a short story, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish", which is included in the collection of Short Stories by J. D. Salinger. I used to read this book over and over and even translated some of the stories. Yoshida Akimi was one of my very famous cartoonists, too. I was profoundly influenced by her another series, Kisshou Tennyo. Have you read it? It's just stunning, both in terms of artwork and storyline.
