Here is the picture for May from my 1901 Japanese woodblock calendar, with the usual added Gackt photo and classical Japanese poem.  The calendar has a double-spread for all months except May and June, so I've had to make an inset of the page for these two months.

The "bedcurtains" in the poem refer to the wisteria, the dangling pale purple plant which you can see in the foreground of the picture but also, across the water, on a specially made pergola.  Wisteria is flowering in the UK at present;  the smell is vaguely like coconut but a bit sweeter.
