Word and image: Autumn grasses 2 - dianthus

Given the other end of life content in Gackt's blog, I've deliberately chosen the most youthful of the Seven Autumn Grasses as the second in this series.  The wild pink, dianthus suberbus, goes commonly under a Japanese name which literally translates as "an affectionate touch for a child".  The image is from the 2006 Dears published calendar (fittingly the month is October) and the words are mine;  hopefully both are consoling.
