I'm glad he does wear the big specs, a gentleman his age would normally have more crow's feet lines around the eyes. I experienced this sun-blocking benefit myself. My favorite glass-less video clip is one of his performances of No ni Saku Hana at a high school. He's almost about to start singing, and whips off the sunglasses, which gets a big "ohhh" from the kids.
