NHK News: JPOP in Europe and America
An event tackling something like, how JPOP is becoming a hit with youths in the west. I guess, the attendees in the event are from different record companies from Europe, America, and Japan, probably Asia.

Ｊ－ＰＯＰと呼ばれる若者などに人気の日本の音楽を特に欧米の市場に売り込もうと、海外のレコード会社などを招いた国際商談会が、１４日から東京で 始まりました。業界団体によりますと、日本の音楽市場の規模は年間およそ４６００億円SOURCE: NHK NEWS 10-14-2008で横ばいの状態が続いており、少子化時代の到来を見込んで新たな戦略 が必要になっているということです。
商談会は欧米やアジアの１２の国と地域からレコード会社の担当者を招いて東京・品川区の会場で開かれました。会場では、はじめに日本のレコード会社 が海外に売り出そうとしている歌手やグループのビデオが上映されたあと、会社ごとに個 別のブースで商談が行われました。すでに多くのファンがいる日本のア ニメやゲームなどと比べ「Ｊ－ＰＯＰ」は、特に欧米ではあまり知られていないというこ とで、商談会では日本の会社の担当者がアニメのテーマソングを歌う女 性グループを売り出すために、海外でコンサートを開くことなどを提案していました。業 界団体によりますと、日本の音楽市場の規模は年間およそ４６００億円 で横ばいの状態が続いており、少子化時代の到来を見込んで新たな戦略が必要になってい るということです。
