Eek - I must have missed this post for a day! Sorry. I must have blinked straight past it because of the cut.
This is a great choice of picture - wonderful warm skin tones in the fabric balanced by the chilly green on the fan. ( I keep trying to read the pale writing-like line of script at the bottom of the pic though - think this must be a message in Gackt!)
Thanks for putting in an entry - nice to see the activity for this challenge hotting up!
What you can read "I continue to love you, and never let you go" I think that's all you need to know. Very strong message (very understandable), and I think you don't need any letter more to get the feeling of the picture/design :) I really like the design~
Sorry, but I think the text is understandable. It's true, you can't read the last letter because of the texture, I used. But you can read it. The text is: I continue to love you, and never let you go. I showed the graphic several people and everyone could read it. :)
I love this! ♥ The image is just so calm and gorgeous and the texture really adds to it, while the text is nice as well. The way it fades away at the end, I really like that, you still know what the message is, even if it is faded, and I think that adds to the overall theme that you wanted to message to have. ^^ Great job! (^^)b
I agree with you. Even when you can't "read" the last two letters, the message is understandable. And I like the idea, that the words are "fading"... Like he would say that to a woman, who left him (sorry, too much fanfictions ^^)
^________^ The fading of the image was on purpose. I think, even when you can't read the last two letters, the message is clear :) And thank you very much for your lovely words! I'm honored to get such a great compliment! ^o^
Sorry, but this is just your view of the "Banner". Many people are don't have any problems with the banner. And even when you are thinking, that a graphic loses the power, it is (like I said) your view. Other people are not having problems with reading the texture.
And yes, like I said it before, it was on purpose. :)
So, I hope everything is clear now. I don't think we have to start a discussion about a graphic, right? ;)
Yes, this is my opinion, as someone who is also a graphic artist. If you post something for a challenge, you can expect viewers to ask questions as to your intent, I for one, am grateful when someone takes the time to review my work, it means they are taking me seriously as an artist.

The image goes so dark on the side, I can't read all of the text.

There is a letter past the o in the last sentence, is this an a for the word away? is it another g?
You've also kerned and tracked the text so it reads as a mass and not as two separate thoughts.
The squiggle lines at the bottom are also ambiguous, as they could read as a signature of some sort.
If a viewer has to struggle to understand an image, even for a half-second, then as a graphic work, it loses it's power.
I was merely asking if these particular choices were intentional. And, as you have told me they are, that's all I need to know.

I like the warm tones in the pictures as well and was pretty surprised how it came out ^^
(*laughs* ... I'm sorry, but that isn't a message, it's just a light-texture ^_~)
