Gacktastic Vid by Request

So yesterday, Col Shinimegami mentioned that she didn't recall this clip of Saikai Story from the Sixth Day Seventh Night tour, and I think it bears repeating.

You will see the end of the concert, before the encore, and in the interval, the audience was handed blue penlights (unbeknownst to Gackt) and they all sang 'Happy Birthday' to him.

Gackt could hear this backstage, but what he said moved him the most was the sight of the thousands of penlights, for a moment he thought he had died in happiness and the lights were thousands of blue butterflies escorting him to heaven, and he sings through sobs. Later he reported, he didn't even know he was weeping.

I'd never seen this before though I'd read (a translated interview) that Gackt said he was so exhausted at the end of the last number that he was in a daze, almost asleep on his feet, so that his eyes wouldn't focus when he came back on stage and he really imagined that he was in some sort of other state (heaven?) filled with blue butterflies.

It's gripping to see the clip though - you have to be intensely motivated (affection, loyalty, gratitude?) and strong to put your emotions in front of so many people like that. What a wonderful man. Thank you so much for putting the video up.
