Photographers (or magazine editors?) always seem to bleach out his beautiful golden skin tone. I think there's this old-fashioned idea that paler skin is classier or whatever. On the practical side, lightening an image digitally or taking the photo under very bright light will "erase" lots of minor imperfections in the model's skin.
