Welcome new members of Crescent Company

All new recruits (as well as existing members) should go to Rankings-Members Dossiers (in tags) and create a profile to find friends with common interests, (other than of course, our abiding love for The General of The Army.)

Most of our recruits have been screened in, some are sponsored in to the community by Captains and Staff Officers. In future, anyone sponsoring in a new member must be mutually friended to the nominee, in fairness to our screened recruits.

Thank you very much, Pearl Lim. My first skirmish was trying to find my way round the admin (not my strong point) but I've managed to get my dossier onto the site the right way up, so I'm celebrating that as a victory! Thanks for the welcome.

That's good... ^^ And, you can just call me Pearl if you want... Hehe... :P

Certainly! I shall be pleased to think of you as a Pearl before swine (in my case)

Admin. It's not my strong point and I was tired and rushed so the prompt (on being enlisted) to go to member dossiers didn't get me to rankings (which is, of course, where it lives). Being me, I knew that, if I couldn't find it, it must be there and I must be missing it, so - yeah! - I found it eventually.

Also, I was wrong-footed by the profile statement (about how to join) which reads as though being sponsored was the GA preferred route (seems logical) but then, when I'd miraculously found that the Uesugi_gakuto mod was kind enough to rec me, the responding post-enlistment post implied that we should have gone for the screening option - which I would have been happy to do (easier for me than squirmingly having to ask a favour, no?) were it not for the recruitment advice on the profile page laying it on thick about sponsorship. Sigh. I get confused easily.

Sorry this is a long comment - but, as you're watching and asked the question, you might be interested in the whole answer!

Ah, thanks for the reply. The community looks good to me! (and it's poetry friendly - I can hardly believe it). That's why I wanted to join.

On the hoops, I'm game for hoops, if you'd like them jumped through; you have only to give the orders. I realize that the GA machinery has its own logic and momentum, but we lowly prospective foot-soldiers have great potential to be confused - or at least this one has! - so thanks for taking the trouble to explain.

Ah - I know it is the un-glamorous, background hard work which makes these organizations (armies and other!) work well. I help a bit in RL with the spadework (driving, advertizing, emailing, texting, etc etc) for our kung fu classes so I know the effort involved. Consequently, I'm grateful for the pepo who put their time into keeping things running - especially, as it seems here, when everything gets dealt with fast. Thanks again.
